Description
The Beepboop Passive Touch CTRL is a simple but expressive way to route signals around your eurorack system.
The module is composed of two jacks, each of which are routed alternately to the horizontal gold stripes on the panel.
When you touch the panel the moisture in your skin acts as a conductor allowing a signal to pass from one jack to another.
The resistance is inversely proportional to pressure.
As you increase the pressure, you also increase the surface area of contact thereby decreasing the resistance between the two jacks.
Due to the nature of the passive modules there will be some signal bleed, but this is improved when you route a signal into the top jack and out of the bottom jack thanks to some resistors.
Patch ideas
- Volume control – feed an oscillator into the top jack and the bottom out to a mixer.
- Noise source – Touch the panel and route the output to an amplifier
- Fills – Manually add fill triggers to other trigger patterns
- CV Controller – Send a fixed voltage into the top jack and route to a filter.
