Description
This 3U 8hp wide 12V Motor for Eurorack is the product of my work with electromagnetism and developing motor drivers for tape machines.
The module utilities H-bridge technology so it’s possible for the direction of the motor to be easily swapped with a switch or even a gate!
The main control knob adjusts the speed and also has trimmers (located on the back of the PCB) to allow for adjustment of the range to suit different 12V motors!
The speed can be modulated with a 0-5V CV signal applied to the CV jack and attenuated using the smaller control knob.
The motor direction (clockwise Vs anti clockwise) can be swapped using the panel switch or even a gate signal!!
The external motor is connected and driven via the bananna jacks labelled POS and NEG (+ and – connection respectively )
You can connect these to any 12V motor ( don’t worry about the polarity as connecting it to opposite way will just make the motor spin backwards , you cannot break it )
I’ll be building a limited edition batch of 4 modules!
Primarily the module.is for driving a 12V passive tape deck that is being released as part of my 3U modular TapeRack system but it can be used for somkuch more.
I will also be making some 20hp passive motor modules with a 12V motor and spinning plate built in ready to be used with this motor.
Capture rhythms and sounds from textures…..
Listen to a whole AMSR sounds and rhythms in objects and materials as they spin using my 2hp Kontact mic or 2hp intercom mic module.
What experiments would you do with a motor in your Eurorack system?
